Women’s Ministry
Every Avon Park First Presbyterian ARP woman, whether a member, associate member or visitor is a vital part of the Women’s Ministry and is encouraged to participate in the various activities offered.
Circles
Circles are designed to provide a personal fellowship of each woman in the Church that will cause her to feel she has the support of Christian friends who show a genuine concern for her. Bible study, Prayer and Fellowship are the main objectives of these meetings.
There are two Circles that meet monthly, September through May, except December.
Mary Circle meets the second Wednesday at 1 PM at the church. This year they studied Nancy Leigh DeMoss’s “Seeking Him: Experiencing the Joy of Personal Revival.”
Sarah Circle meets the second Tuesday at 6:30 PM at the church and studied “Meeting the Spirit" this year. This year they will be studying 1, 2, and 3 John.
Both Circles had a wonderful year and invite you to join them in September.
Quarterly Luncheons
During the year the women enjoy quarterly luncheons that are held at noon on the first Saturday of September, December, March and May. The two Circles alternate the hosting of these events.
At the Christmas Luncheon, the men of the church graciously served the women and enjoyed a time of fellowship and delicious food together! Thank you gentleman for your help!
Week of Prayer
In January the Women’s Ministry hosts a Week of Prayer when all the church is invited to gather for breakfast and devotional prayer for our church and our nation.
Missions
All the women are encouraged to participate in the many foreign and local mission projects carried out by the women of First Presbyterian Church.
The Prayer Chain
This committee is responsible to relay prayer requests and other important information to the total congregation as quickly as possible.
If you desire to be on the Prayer Chain and receive requests for prayer, please notify the Prayer Chain Chairman Sharon Huributt at 863-452-0264.
Crafty Ladies
Many of the women of our congregation join together for fun, fellowship and crafts each Monday morning at 10 AM to noon, October through May in the church Christian Education Building. Items produced are sent to Bonclarken, our ARP conference grounds for sale in the gift shop. Some of the crafts are shared with members of the congregation at our spring craft sale. If you like to sew, knit, crochet, paint, or dabble in various projects, come join the Crafty Ladies. |
